One of my many passions is writing! As a writer when you’re not writing you’re reading. Through reading and writing I have met many brilliant writers, gifted story tellers and poets. Many have become my friends. Still others I only feel like I know through having been invited into their imaginations and spent countless hours reading and rereading their stories and poems.

I would like to introduce these friends to you as well. I encourage you to read as many of these books as you fancy. Your mind is a powerful and amazing tool. Combine that with a gifted writer, story teller or poet and you can be quicky drawn in and taken away to a distant land, into a story of cruelty, hope, loss, love, thrilling adventure, filled with twists, turns, anticipation — and with the turn of each page you are more and more drawn into the world of two strong imaginations.

No wonder it is so difficult to put a good book down. No wonder we don’t ever want the story to end.

Please check here often to see what books I am reading and adding. I will be continuously updating my list. Great happiness and peace to you!

A few of my most favorite Mindfulness books by Thich Nhat Hanh.  One day I hope to visit Plum Village.

be free where you are|, by Thich Nhat Hanh|

One of my favorite books by Thich Nhat Hanh.  A transcription of a talk he gave at the Maryland Correctional Institution at Hagerstown – teaching how a practice of mindfulness can cultivate freedom not matter where you are.  A very powerful 69 page book!

Additional mindfulness books by Thich Nhat Hanh that are lovely to read and wonderful mindfulness teachers,

The Miracle of Mindfulness|

Being Peace|

Peace is Every Step|

One of my favorite books on examining why a practice of mindfulness might be something you might be interested in incorporating into your own daily life is a lovely book by the Dalai Lama, a practitioner of altruism and exiled leader of Tibet since he was 16:

The Art of Happiness|

Cassidy Webb and her Mom, DJ Weaver (I especially like this!)   http://www.amazon.com/Cruelty-Innocents-911-Abduction-ebook/dp/B0052TMF02/  —  I just started reading this myself. My comment so far — Excellent!

Best Poetry Books|

One of my| family favorites| poems representing| Langston Hughes| William Shakespeare| Homer| W. B. Yeats| Emily Dickinson| E. E. Cummings| Robert Frost| Walt Whitman|:

The Best Loved Poems of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis|

Dead People on Holiday| by my friend|, Stephen Jackson|, a wonderful book.  This would make a wonderful treasured gift to any poetry lover on your list!

“The living”, they say, “are dead people on holiday”. Stephen Jackson|’s Dead People on Holiday| is a ten-year testimony to one man’s living death, concluding in acceptance and the chance of a kind of rebirth. The poetry here pulls apart the melancholy of encroaching age and irredeemable failure, with a candour which for most of us has to be kept stifled, silent, perhaps barely even thought. Yet this is a book to surmount despair. If these are life’s ashes, from them a phoenix can rise. “Tight and life-affirming,” this poetry has been called; with a richness comparable to John Donne’s.

The book is also profusely illustrated with the author’s own digital imagery, acclaimed as “stunning” and “hauntingly beautiful”

Coming Soon to Kindle|

I’m very excited to announce| Brand Loyalty| by F.m. Kahren| coming soon to Kindle| available by Christmas 2011| Look for it!|

I’m not sure what genre to place August Farewell| by my friend, author| David G. Hallman| available on Kindle|

http://www.amazon.com/August-Farewell-Sixteen-Thirty-Three-Year-Romance/dp/1450286364/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_1

I am reading it right now.  I ordered it 3 times before it finally arrived to my home.  Cyberspace snafus?  It made me want it that much more!  When it finally arrived I was delighted!  David Hallman is a brilliant writer.  August Farewell is a moving, powerful story and tribute to love shared and the lessons and strength found through love.  A beautiful tribute to Bill Conklin|.   I wanted to review this book before I finished reading it, so you would have time to purchase it as a Christmas gift for yourself or a loved one.
